BOOM: Building on our Momentum is a learning conference featuring a series of events centered on the experience of conversation and community engagement. Sessions are designed by members of the community for the entire community and will meet participants where they are in their learning and comfort in engaging in sessions on diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Our diversity shines brightest when we bring our full selves together as one community. BOOM is a moment where we can come together as one community to think deeply and collectively about how we engage with each other.

Understand difference. Ask hard questions. Plan to act.

A United Affinity Front (Part 2 of 2): Bridges and Connections Across Affinity Groups

Log in to save this to your schedule, view media, leave feedback and see who's attending!

Awaken the sleeping giant. Participants in this interactive workshop will learn how to work across affinity groups and direct their united power towards creating change at MHC. This workshop will give participants the tools they need to create bridges between affinity groups, build a common agenda and to effect change as a united front at MHC. There are two parts to the workshop: simultaneous individual affinity group sessions and a unity session. Affinity groups can form along any lines of difference. Facilitated by the Collaborations Group.

We need members from within the community to sponsor an affinity group. To sponsor an affinity group for the purposes of this workshop, email Rene Davis by Noon on Friday, March 24, 2017. The affinity group does not have to be recognized by MHC. Affinity group sponsors must attend a check in session on Saturday, March 25, 2017.
