BOOM: Building on our Momentum is a learning conference featuring a series of events centered on the experience of conversation and community engagement. Sessions are designed by members of the community for the entire community and will meet participants where they are in their learning and comfort in engaging in sessions on diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Our diversity shines brightest when we bring our full selves together as one community. BOOM is a moment where we can come together as one community to think deeply and collectively about how we engage with each other.

Keynote: Dr. Marc Lamont Hill
One of the nation’s most respected voices on diversity, Dr. Marc Lamont Hill, will deliver the conference keynote. Dr. Hill is a political contributor to CNN and professor of African American Studies at Morehouse College and the author of four books. His most recent is Nobody: Casualties of America’s War on the Vulnerable, from Ferguson to Flint and Beyond. Hill will address challenges and strategies for creating an inclusive community on college campuses in 2017 and beyond, including how every individual plays a role in creating and sustaining a diverse, socially just, equitable and inclusive environment.
