Our diversity shines brightest when we bring our full selves together as one community. BOOM is a moment where we can come together as one community to think deeply and collectively about how we engage with each other.

Promoting Peace and Justice
Issues concerning peace and justice exist all over the world. This summer, I had the opportunity to work with an organization that promotes education about these issues in northeastern Pennsylvania. Throughout my time with the Interfaith Resource Center for Peace and Justice, I had a variety of responsibilities ranging from writing grant requests to answering email. Additionally, I expanded the organization’s social media presence and updated its bookkeeping software. The biggest project I took on was helping to plan the organization’s annual summer camp that teaches children how to lead peaceful lives. This internship taught me about the day-to-day operations of nonprofit organizations, as well as the ways in which nonprofit organizations and businesses can work together to build stronger communities.
